Discounted Hosting Packages for Your Top-Level Domain Names

There are 2 features you require in order to have a web portal. The first one is a domain name that will show your online portal when you write it in a browser, and the other one is a web hosting package, which is fundamentally the hard disk storage space on a web hosting server where the website files will be placed, plus a few more services that it is offering. The domain and the web hosting package are two interconnected, yet different services, and you demand them both so as to have a working web portal.

What is a Domain?

A domain is the alpha-numeric combination that you will pick to be the web address for the web page: my-best-domain.com, for example. A domain can be up to 64 symbols long and it is made of 2 constituents – a Top-Level Domain (TLD) and a Second-Level Domain (SLD). In the abovementioned example, my-best-domain is the SLD, and .com is the Top-Level Domain. While you can choose the second-level domain name of the domain to be anything that is open for registration, there is a fixed number of top-level domain names to choose from. The TLDs can be generic (gTLDs) or country-code (ccTLDs), and can be registered for a fixed stretch of time between 1 and 10 yrs. They may entail additional stipulations when it comes to the registrant.

Domain Name Web Hosting Services

As the domain name is just a name and nothing more than that, you need a website hosting package where you have to host it. In such a way, when you type it in a browser, it will exhibit the files that you have in the account, i.e. it will exhibit your online portal. You can have a domain registered with a certain provider and obtain the hosting service from another, even though numerous web hosting distributors provide both services and it is more user-friendly to manage all services from the same web hosting CP tool. Either way, since the domain name registration and the website hosting account are different services, you have to point the domain name to the web hosting server where it will be added as hosted. To accomplish that, you need to modify a certain setting, or record, of the domain - the so-called nameservers. Each hosting vendor has at least two name servers - ns1.mnistrathosting.co.uk and ns2.mnistrathosting.co.uk, for example. The Control Panel that you have for your domain gives you the chance to alter the name servers and point the domain name to one web hosting vendor or another.

The Need of Stable Website Hosting Solutions

The moment the domain name is pointed to a concrete domain hosting distributor and is added to their hosting servers, you will obtain different online services. The most vital one is that the site files that you keep on the web server will now be shown when you type your domain in a web browser. You will also be able to create mail address accounts like name@my-best-domain.com and make use of webmail or an e-mail client to tackle them. Whether you own a personal or a business web page, being online and being allowed to create email box accounts with your domain are the two most cardinal things that you obtain with a web hosting plan. If you own a corporate web page – it will represent your business before your visitors or customers. This is the reason why you need a reliable web hosting corporation that will furnish a reliable and stable web hosting service.
